Elevate Your Eyebrow Game With These Tips

We’ve all been there. Scrolling through Instagram or TikTok and finding what can only be described as brows that are a thing of beauty. They’re shaped perfectly, each hair is defined, and yet sleek and smoothed in with the rest.

What is the brow routine? How can you manage to tackle your brows on the daily without the stress?

Level up your brow game. That’s how.

Shaping

Your eyebrows can change the entire shape of your face. It can lift the cheekbones, pull attention to the shape of the eyes, and even give you more lid space. It’s not impossible to do at home, but it’s much easier to get the brow shape you want by heading to a Threading Bar. They give you a defined shape, remove the strays and give you the ideal starting point for brows that slay (or, at the very least look great with zero effort).

Once you have that shape, it becomes easier to maintain at home if you need to. Starting from scratch is hard but not impossible.

Quick tips for shaping your own brows:

  • Map out your brow shape
  • Brush your brows up
  • Trim longer and unruly hairs
  • Brush brows down and trim again
  • Tweeze away any hairs that are outside of you mapped and trimmed brow

Go slowly so that you don’t take away too much!

Don’t want to trim? No problems. There is always the option to have your eyes and brows reshaped permanently with Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery or finding alternative ways.

Shaping with Soap

Not everyone wants to tweeze their eyebrows, and that’s cool. Beauty is what you make it. Brow soap is a great way to style your natural brows and is super simple. Although you can get some incredible eyebrows soap kits, you can soap shape your brows with a regular bar.

Soap shaping is a great alternative to gels and can be quick and effective.

Opt for a bar of glycerin soap, they are less drying and less irritating for the skin. Most glycerin soaps are transparent but two that rate highly is Pears or Muji.

  • Damp your spoolie
  • Gently rub on the soap bar
  • Now shape your brows how you’d like

It’s a quick and effective way to shape your brows. However, if your brow soap hits your foundation there is likely to be a reaction. So brow soap is best used on natural look makeup days. Leaving the heavy work for other brow products.

Dying your Brows

If you have brows that don’t really seem to have any impact at all, then it might be time to get the dye out. There are several dyes that are ideal for using brows. Many people like to use Men’s Mustache and Beard Gel, or root touch up kits. The dye that is provided is a smaller amount and much easier to handle.

You’ll need to create a drip-proof area. You can do this by using vaseline. This will prevent the dye dripping onto the skin around your eyebrow.

Wear some gloves and mix the dye following the instructions.

Carefully brush the dye on to your eyebrows

Set a timer to make sure you don’t leave the dye on for too long, five minutes is enough.

Find a washcloth that you don’t mind getting dye on or a cotton pad and wash off the dye.

Tinted brows will last a few weeks, but you can choose to wear a temporary tint so that you can see if the color is right for you.

Just like the hair on your head, you should take some time to condition your eyebrows. A thin layer of castor oil on your eyebrow is a great start. You can style your eyebrows as normal once they are dry.

Your eyebrows are one of the key ways to shape your face. They can be shaped, removed, and drawn on, dyed, trimmed, and waxed. Even if you think you don’t enough eyebrows to work with, you might be surprised how much of a difference plucking or threading can make to them.
