how to get rid of blackhead

What’s more unsightly than blackheads! How do they appear? How to avoid them? Do we have to pierce them yourself? So many questions that BeautyOnFleeck answers to.

What is a blackheads?

How to remove the wide blackheads – also called “Open Comedones” – are formed mainly on the face at the nose, but also on the rest of the zone T, namely the forehead and the chin. They are due to an obstruction of the Pilaris channel by keratinocytes (a mixture of sebum and dead cells).

These keratinocytes should be flaking every day, but at the time of hormonal changes or in case of poor skin hygiene, this flaking is not done well. The dead cells will then oxidize in contact with the air and clog the canal, leaving the comedones to appear. If they are not treated, they will evolve to white dots and then buttons.

The causes of blackheads

  • Puberty and hormonal changes. The production or taking of hormones activates the sebaceous glands responsible for the production of sebum. Throughout life, these hormonal factors (pill taking, menopause…) will make the skin more responsive and promote the appearance of blackheads.
  • The use of so-called Comedogenic cosmetics. These are often fatty bodies or occlusive makeup products like some types of sun powders. It is advisable to look at the labels and to prefer non-comedogenic products.
  • Poor skin hygiene and a diet too rich in fats or sugars.
  • Oily or mixed skins are more affected by blackheads. The pores are much more dilated and produce more sebum than dry skin.

Our tips against blackheads: How to avoid them?

Tip # 1:

Practice regular skin Care (makeup, scrub, mask, hydration) and have a good general hygiene.

Tip # 2:

Avoid exposure to the sun. When you expose yourself, the superficial layer of your skin thickens and the sebum accumulates. An acceleration of the formation of blackheads occurs when the skin grain becomes normal.

Tip # 3:

Avoid alcohol-based solutions that are aggressive for the skin and prefer very soft products.

Should we pierce the blackheads?

We do not advise to remove his blackheads alone: “We can do it but you have to be talented. People do not wash their hands, clean and disinfect their skin before and after. They empty them half or press them poorly, which creates an inflammatory phenomenon. “

The right gestures to remove blackheads

  • Make an appointment with a beautician or dermatologist to learn how to pierce blackheads without damaging your skin.
  • A few days before removing your blackheads, apply a cream containing a little salicylic acid to soften the black spot. You can also make a steam bath just before to open the pores of the skin.
  • Wash your hands and disinfect the area to be treated with an antiseptic solution.
  • Aim and press the black dot between two tissues or two cotton swabs. If you opt for the Comedo, consider disinfecting the pump.
  • Do not scrape the skin, or you may see it go in shreds.

The treatment of blackheads

There are several treatments for removing blackheads or preventing them from appearing. You can treat your skin in your daily life with cosmetological treatments or use a dermatologist.

Cosmetological Treatments

The basis of a clean skin grain begins with a morning and evening cleaning with products adapted to your skin type.

If you have oily or mixed skin, you can use zinc-based products, known for its anti-inflammatory properties. A salicylic acid cream is also very effective for softening the cells that clog the pores of the skin.

People affected by severe acne problems may use a product composed of so-called keratolytic acid vitamin (peels off the keratin layer). Attention, this product being highly irritating, it requires a use under prescription by a dermatologist and a medical check followed.

Fruit acid based products are also recommended to get rid of blackheads. They help to loosen dead cells and increase scaling. Be sure to adapt the concentration of fruit acids according to your skin type as they can be irritating beyond a certain percentage.

What about anti blackhead patches?

The anti-blackhead patches soften the stoppers and attract the duo dead-sebum cells to the outside of the skin. All the “wastes” stick to the inside of the patch and we find a sharper skin.

They are not very efficient and are not suitable for dry and fragile skins. Because of its sticky system, the patch may tear off a small film of the skin, so it is not the best solution to remove blackheads.

Dermatological Treatments

It is stated that there is no dermatological process strictly speaking for blackheads. However, there are dermatological treatments for treating acne skins and thus removing blackheads at the same time.

Dermatological Cleaning

It is practiced by a dermatologist after a diagnosis and analysis of your skin. The specialist begins by making a thin glycolic acid peeling to open the pores of the skin. Then it will perform a thorough cleaning of the skin and, with the help of a beveled needle or a small scalpel, it will make micro-incisions.

Finally, it will remove the blackheads with a comedo and apply a solution of trichloroacetic acid to close the pores and promote healing.

The fractional CO2 LASER

It is used to erase scars due to acne. During the session, a stream of cold air is diffused continuously to limit unpleasant sensations and anesthesia can be envisaged. The laser tightens the pores to the maximum and the blackheads disappear.

As the sessions progressed, there was an improvement in the skin grain and a decrease in the enlarged pores.

The D-GLOW LASER

A coupled action of the micro-biological current (MBC) with ultrasound treats all the problems related to the skin and especially those of the problem skins. It cleans the face in depth, warns acne, treats and tightens the pores to limit the formation of blackheads. The skin is healthier thanks to a rebalancing of seborrheic skins.
